1. Content Relevance
We focus on The Afrikan Shujaa Magazine's specific themes and categories, which include Afro-Culture, Afro-Fact Zone, History and Politics, Learn Swahili, Lifestyle and Entertainment, and Sports Arena. Please ensure your submission aligns with our content focus and our broad international target audience.
2. Originality
We only accept original content. Your submission must not have been published elsewhere, including on personal blogs or other publications. Also make sure to observe other ethical considerations in scholarly writing like avoiding plagiarism, adopting a professional at the same time polite tone, and including proper citations.
3. Word Count
Articles should generally fall within a word count range of 500-2,000 words. Longer pieces may be considered if they provide in-depth value. Also, shorter pieces will be adopted for other content apart from articles, essays, or research papers.
4. Formatting
- Use a clear, readable font and formatting style. (Font type- Verdana; Font Size 10; Spacing 1.15; and a Justified Outlook)
- Include subheadings to break down the content. Also, remember to bolden your keywords.
- Proofread your articles to ensure proper grammar, spelling, and punctuation before sending them to us.
5. Visuals
If your article includes images, ensure they are high-quality and have appropriate attribution and permissions. We prefer images in JPEG, WebP, and PNG. Don’t forget to include captions and credits for all images.
6. Citations and References
If you include statistics, quotes, or references, provide proper citations following a recognized citation style most importantly APA or MLA.
7. Tone and Style
The Afrikan Shujaa Magazine maintains a creative, fairly formal, and informative tone. Familiarize yourself with our style by reading some of our previous articles on our website or previous Magazine Issues.
8. Author Bio and Photo
Include a brief author bio (approximately 50-100 words) and a professional photo of you as you send in your submission. You may include a link to your personal website or social media profiles for a mention in our magazine publications.
9. Exclusive Rights
If your submission is accepted and published by The Afrikan Shujaa Magazine, we request exclusive rights to the content for a specific period of six months before you can publish it elsewhere.
10. Submission Format
We don’t charge any submission fee. Please send your submission in a document format specifically in Word, Google Docs, or PDF to theeafrikanshujaa@gmail.com. For easy retrieval, use the subject line: "The Afrikan Shujaa Magazine Submission: [Your Article Title]."
11. Response Time
Our editorial team strives to respond to submissions within 3 days. In that case, your submission should be received between the 1st and 15th of any month that you want to feature with us. If you haven't received a response after this period, you are welcome to follow up with us. Note that the Afrikan Shujaa Team does not reject any submission that aligns with our policies.
12. Edits and Revisions
Our editorial team may request revisions or edits to your submission. We appreciate your cooperation in making the necessary changes. Our team of expert writers, authors, and editors will guide everyone until they produce a good piece for publication.
